Accessibility Advice for NHS care providers
Are you an NHS service provider?
If you provide services under an NHS contract you are legally bound to make reasonable adjustments for patients who have communication differences e.g. profoundly deaf people who use BSL. We have a range of free guides on supporting Deaf BSL patients under the Accessible Information Standard (AIS).

Our guides include additional information about Deaf culture and the role of interpreters. Please feel free to share our resources with your staff, particularly those who come into direct contact with patients.
If there is a resource you need and it is not listed here, please get in touch so we can find or create the resource you need to meet your Deaf patients’ needs.
