Deaf Crafts Day – Wednesday 10th April 2019

Deaf Craft DayWednesday 10th April – 11am-3pm

We will have a cross stitch/embroidery day, so please bring in any project you may be working on. We will also provide a few simple charts with materials.

£3 per person. Bring a packed lunch.

MK Deaf Rambling – Saturday 13th April 2019

MK Deaf Rambling will be leading a walk on Saturday 13th April 2019 from Hexton near Hitchin at 10am. See information below:

Circular Hill Walking from Hexton including Lilley Hoo, Beds/Herts.

13 miles approx, Moderate level.

Walking route is in the situation of the Northern end of the Chilterns and it is a great place to walk though, with stunning views through miles after miles of beautiful countryside.

Meet at the The Raven Pub, Village Street, Hexton,
Hitchin, SG5 3JB at 10am. The walk will start at 10.30am.

  • Bring your own lunch and drinks or eat at Lilley Arms pub.
  • Wear suitable sturdy boots and always bring weatherproof
    clothing.
  • Dogs are welcome but it is your responsibility to keep on lead

Bletchley Park BSL Tour – 4th May 2019

Bletchley Park, World War II historical site in Milton Keynes will be providing a BSL Tour on Saturday 4th May 2019 at 10am. The site of the code-breakers that helped shorten the war by two years! Its a very interesting place that is now accessible for deaf & hard-of-hearing people people with a BSL tour supported by Access Ambassadors!

There are still spaces left on this tour so book yourselves quickly before Friday 1st April!

Please bring your own Easter project to make on the day, and there will be a small prize for the best one! It can be anything, like papercraft, knitting, crochet, beadwork, Easter bonnet or eggs etc.

Wednesday Afternoon Club – New Location

The Wednesday Afternoon Club in 2019 will be moving to the Espresso Bar cafe in the John Lewis store in Milton Keynes City Centre. The meetup time will be from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and everyone is welcome!

The first meet-up will be on February 20th 2019 – 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

How to find the Espresso Bar:

Head to the city centre in Milton Keynes and find the John Lewis store in Middleton hall. Go to floor M of the store. There you will find the Espresso Café.

Milton Keynes Deaf Zone‘s 3rd Anniversary Party will be hosted at Broughton Pavilion on Saturday 26th January 2019 from 6pm to 10.30pm! Entry is £3 and buffet food and drinks will be provided!
 
There will be a fun quiz and raffle (£1 per strip) and special guests “The Three Deaf Penguins” will be speaking about their recent achievement on swimming the English Channel!
Everyone is welcome, including children!
